Carol
Bossert established CB Services in 1998 to assist museums, science centers,
cultural institutions and educational organizations become effective and
vital players in their communities.
Ms. Bossert has over twenty years of experience working in informal learning
environments. She has developed exhibits, public programs, theater performances,
hands-on activities, and interactive multimedia and web sites. She has
managed both new construction and renovations projects and is experienced
in working to bring projects in on time and on budget.
She has held upper management positions in science centers and museums
including Vice President of Programming for Columbus Center Development,
Inc. in Baltimore and Science Department Director for The Newark Museum
in New Jersey where she also served as interim Deputy Director.
Ms. Bossert holds a doctoral degree in biology from the University of Texas
at Dallas and a bachelors of arts degree in zoology from DePauw University.
She is a graduate of the J.Paul Getty Museum Management Institute. She has
served professional organizations in numerous capacities including President
of the Museums Council of New Jersey and Associate Editor of Collection Forum,
the peer-reviewed journal of the Society for the Preservation of Natural
History Collections. She is a contributor to professional publications such
as Curator magazine and Informal Learning Review and has participated in
professional workshops and presentations. She is a member of numerous professional
organizations including The Museum Group, a collective of museum consultants
offering service to museums worldwide. She has traveled extensively in Western
Europe and China.
